youtube: Cecil Goforth and brother Lonnie, live in Soutnern Missouri. In their younger days, they played music with the likes of John Hartford and the Dillards (The Darlings from Andy Griffith). As a matter of fact, their older brother, the late fiddler Gene Goforth, was an especially big influence on John Hartford's fiddle style. Joe Readnour and Jeff Runyon (aka R & R) spent an afternoon jamming with them a few months ago. Cecil and Lonnie are distant cousins of Jeff's wife, Jan (Goforth) Runyon, whose immediate family also come from Southern MO. What fun!
St. Andrew's Society of Central Illinois: Who would guess we had something as great as this in our own backyard!!! Springfield is home to this particular branch of St. Andrew’s Society. It is easy to become a member and be a part of all the fun and exciting things that they do. If you have any interest at all in anything Celtic, then this is the web site to check out. Wonderful pictures of recent and past events, links to Celtic bands, activities, etc. This is where Joe learned to play the bagpipes! (And I STILL like and belong to the St. Andrew’s Society anyway!) Ya gotta love ‘em. . . .CHECK IT OUT.

mysticbuffalo: This is an awesome web site. Pickin Parlor people play hard and this is what we do for fun. We meld this type of fun into our music life and it works great! Mysticbuffalo has endless information and then some. You can even find out how to cook "fried prairie dog", (don't be squeamish, it is just hot dogs). You can even find pictures of Pickin Parlor people on here! I can smell the campfires now. Check it out and then go visit some camps. It is as good as Friday nights at the Flatbranch Pickin Parlor!! I promise!
